I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6

The Mission of Salvation

Why did the Savior have to appear?

As you know, about two thousand years ago Christ (the Savior) appeared in the world. He changed the world so much that even a new era begins with His birth. He inspired people so much that the Christian faith was created based on His teachings. The vast majority of people around the world have heard of Him, regardless of whether they are Christians, non-believers or members of other religions.

I am writing this article because I am not sure if people know why a figure like Christ appeared.

When Christ came into the world, he had a certain task to perform, which I call the „Mission of Salvation.” In the Gospel of Matthew, when the angel came to Joseph in a dream, he revealed to him what Christ would do.

𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘄 𝟭:𝟮𝟭. „for he will save his people from their sins.”

But to learn more, let’s read the entire verse.

𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘄 𝟭:𝟮𝟭. „She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Yeshu, for he will save his people from their sins.”

Even though the Angel presented everything to Joseph very briefly, we can draw a lot of information from it.

𝐹𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡: 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐴𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑙 𝑐𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝐽𝑜𝑠𝑒𝑝ℎ 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑖𝑠𝑒 𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑢𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠.

𝑆𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑑: 𝐻𝑒 𝑜𝑟𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝑎 𝑛𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑒 𝑔𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐶ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑑.

𝑇ℎ𝑖𝑟𝑑: 𝐻𝑒 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑤ℎ𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑔𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝐻𝑖𝑚 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑛𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑐𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝐻𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑑𝑜.

The exact guidelines mainly referred to the name that Christ was to be called.

What do you think, did the Angel make a fool of himself or was he joking? I ask this question because I see around me that people do not give any importance to it. How is it possible that people do not give importance to a name that comes from heaven and prefer to replace it with some other name? Christianity uses different names all over the world. Depending on the country and language spoken, they decline the name that has no connection with the real name. Why did this happen? Because instead of translating the spelling and sticking to its pronunciation, the translators chose to translate the pronunciation and stick to the way it was written. This led to a complete change of the name and the creation of many other names. To see how important the name of our Lord is, let’s read a few verses.

𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝟰:𝟭𝟮. „And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

So is the name important? From what the Apostle Peter preached, it seems that it is, and that there is only one name by which we must be saved. And what do you think the words „𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑛𝑜 𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑛𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑔𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑎𝑚𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑚𝑒𝑛” mean? Dose it mean the heaven over a individual country or over the whole world? The Letter to the Romans can help us determine what this is all about.

𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝟭𝟬:𝟭𝟮-𝟭𝟯. „For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.””

As you can see, there is one Lord, the same for all people. This Lord has one Name, and what’s more, the Name comes from heaven.

I don’t know if you know but names have their meaning. For example the name Michael means „Who is like God”. Going back to Matthew 1:21, Christ was given the name 𝐘𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐮 which means 𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐔𝐑 because he 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐄 his people from their errors [sins]. He was also given this Name because of the mission he must fulfill „Mission of Salvation”.

Has His mission ended? From what the Holy Scripture tells us, it haven’t ended yet. If it had ended, why would Christ have sent the Apostles all over the world? We will see what the Holy Scripture says about this.

𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝟭𝟬:𝟭𝟰-𝟭𝟱. „How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!””

As you can see, Christ has not yet reached all of his people whom He is to save. And as it is written in the previous verses.

𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝟭𝟬:𝟭𝟭-𝟭𝟯. „For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.””

The Mission of Salvation has not ended yet. Christ Yeshu sent the Apostles to spread His name and testify about Him. Thanks to this, in our times we have a huge amount of material regarding the teachings of Christ, His life on earth, we also have prophecies of what is to come. That is, the entire New Agreement (New Testament) that has survived to our times.

As I have already written, the „Mission of Salvation” has not yet come to an end. We must wait for the fulfillment of many prophecies. The mission will end when the „slanderer” (the devil) is thrown into the lake of fire after the thousand-year reign of Christ, or more precisely after the final judgment.

𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬:𝟭𝟬. „and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.”

The verses that tell us about the end of the Mission of Salvation are found in:

𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟭:𝟭-𝟯. „Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.”

This is the time referred to in 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘄 𝟭:𝟮𝟯. When the Mission of Salvation is completed, Christ will receive a new name, „Emmanuel,” meaning „God with us.”
