“Manifest mutual love to one another as to close relatives. Outdo one another in showing respect, be zealous in this, do not lag behind. Blaze with the Breath and serve the Lord. Draw joy from hope, endurance from affliction, do not cease in prayer.” β€οΈβπ₯π‘οΈ
Apostle Paul does not throw words to the wind! In just three verses he gives you a powerful arsenal to fight with your own ego and the difficulties of everyday life. π This is not another collection of pious advice, but a complete mechanism of a radical change of heart! π οΈ Everything starts from a total revolution in your relationships. Human nature loves to get its own way, fight for recognition, and to those who hurt us β repay in the same way. π€² Paul however turns this system upside down, calling us to “competition in humility”. Instead of proving your superiority, you must race in who will be the first to show respect to the other. When you put this into practice, something amazing happens: pride dies, and you begin to look with love not only at your brothers in the community, but… also at your enemies and opponents! β€οΈβπ₯ Blessing and sincere respect towards someone who stands on the other side of the barricade is the absolute peak of spiritual maturity.
Such an attitude directly imitates the fully devoted life of our Lord, Yeshu. ποΈ He never sought applause, but with a burning heart fulfilled the will of the Father, and from the cross prayed for his tormentors! So that we too could live like this, we need God’s fuel. Pay attention to the masterful combination in these verses: drawing joy from hope, endurance from affliction, and not ceasing in prayer. In today’s world, which at all costs avoids pressure, takes revenge for insults and seeks immediate comfort, the apostle shows a wonderful paradox. π«οΈ If your joy flows from unwavering hope for the future with God, then every affliction, attack or conflict ceases to be a reason for breakdown, and becomes a spiritual gym! Your goal is such a saving faith, in which your zeal is not a momentary spurt, but a constant “blazing with the Breath”, continuously powered by prayer. π₯ Building the mind on this Truth makes even the greatest enemies and the hardest trials become a space where God with love tempers your Spirit!
Reflection for today π
Consider with what attitude you react to people who deliberately throw logs under your feet [put obstacles in your way] or simply get on your nerves? π€ Do you treat them as a target to destroy in a battle to prove you are right, or rather as a chance to reveal God’s love and “outdo them in respect”? π Think also where you look for strength when pressure surrounds you from everywhere. Do you try to survive on your own fumes, or are you able to plug into unceasing prayer? And what if your life burnout comes from the fact that you fight with your own methods, instead of openly asking: “Father, how can I serve You today with a burning heart, even among those who wish me bad?” πΆββοΈ Ask Lord Yeshu for a heart capable of such radical humility and for faith that brings peace regardless of the behavior of others. A mature bond with God turns every life storm into a triumph of trust! π§
