“Where, O death, is your sting? Where, O hell, is your victory? But the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gave us the victory through our Lord Yeshu Christ.” π‘οΈ Victory ποΈ (1 Cor 15:55-57)
This fragment is our **”Great Proclamation of Freedom”**! The Apostle Paul triumphantly announces here that in Yeshu, the time of fear of condemnation has ended. This is not just good news β it is a complete change of the reality in which we lived as debtors to God. πβ¨
Let us note three fundamental aspects of this victory:
1. **Disarming the Accuser:** Death could only wound us because we had sin, and sin had its destructive power thanks to the Law. The Law exposed every weakness of ours, placing us under judgment. Yeshu, however, took this “sting” upon Himself, disarming death once and for all! ππ«
2. **The Law is an Inseparable Whole:** We must know that the Law was given exclusively to the nation of Israel (Ps 147:19-20). Importantly β the Bible does not divide the Law into a “moral part” and a “sacrificial part.” It was one, coherent system. Whoever tries to keep even a fragment of the Law becomes a debtor to the entire Law. Yeshu did not remove only a part of the regulations β He **”blotted out the debt record that was against us (…) and took it out of the way, having nailed it to the tree of His sacrifice”** (Col 2:14). The entire Law has been fulfilled and “canceled” as a way to God. ππ¨
3. **The Trap of “Returning to Bondage”:** The Bible makes it clear: one cannot be under the Law and under grace at the same time. If someone tries to return under the Law to seek righteousness in it, then β as we read β they have **”separated from Yeshu and fallen away from grace”** (Gal 5:4). Recognizing the New Covenant is a full trust that Yeshu’s work is complete and nothing needs to be added to it. β οΈπ
**Reflection for today:** Does your relationship with God base itself on the joy of Yeshu’s finished work, or on the fear that you are not fulfilling some “regulation”? π€ Remember that trying to divide the Law and choosing from it what suits us is a road to nowhere. The victory that Yeshu gave us is complete and indivisible. ππ
Today, rest in this truth: you are no longer under the judgment of the Law, but in the arms of grace. Live as a free person, because your debt has been canceled in its entirety! π¦ π
