Enduring Faith – Key to God’s Depth and the Fulfillment of Promises

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” πŸ™πŸ•ŠοΈ

Today, reflect on the profound message of these words of Yeshu, which extend beyond a simple request. This is not a promise to fulfill every whim, but an invitation to a dynamic, persistent, and trusting relationship with the Heavenly Father. It is a call to actively seek God’s will and His Kingdom in our lives.

From the very beginning of our journey with Yeshu, the Word calls us to commitment. The Greek original of the words “ask,” “seek,” and “knock” indicates a continuous, unceasing action. It is not a one-time act, but an enduring posture of the heart. God desires that we do not cease in prayer, in seeking His truth, and in knocking at the door of His mercy, until He reveals His will to us and opens the way for us. This teaches patience, faith, and determination in our relationship with the Lord.

Yeshu repeatedly emphasized that we should first seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). This means that our “seeking” should not be directed towards satisfying our earthly needs, but primarily towards knowing His will, growing in wisdom, and a deeper understanding of His plan for our lives. Active action, not a passive attitude, is key. “Seek” and “knock” are a call to engage in the process of spiritual growth, readiness to act according to God’s leading, and being open to His revelation.

Contemporary approaches that diminish prayer, treating God as a cosmic wish-granting machine, miss the essence of Lord Yeshu’s teaching. Such thinking, often fueled by a world that promotes instant gratification, leads to disappointment and loss of faith when our superficial requests are not met exactly as we expect. This is a trap that diverts us from the profound truth that God knows best what is good for us, and answers our prayers in a way consistent with His love and wisdom, and not always with our human expectations.
